Sabor da Manhã.
Sabor da Manhã is a coffee shop concept with Portuguese inspiration. The coffee shop was targeted towards various audiences, including students, corporate employees and all other local coffee lovers.
Challenge
The main challenge of the project was capturing the essence of Portuguese tradition while ensuring the brand remained relevant and appealing to modern audiences.
Additionally, the visual identity needed to differentiate Sabor da Manhã from competitors and evoke the vibrant atmosphere of Lisbon’s streets.
What we did
We approached the visual identity of the coffee shop by carefully balancing traditional Portuguese elements with contemporary design aesthetics, creatively adapting cultural references to ensure relevance and coherence.
The process began with in-depth research into Portuguese culture, architecture, and iconic motifs like azulejos, alongside the vibrant colors of Lisbon’s streets.
After exploring various concepts through brainstorming and sketching, we refined the most compelling directions based on client feedback, integrating patterns, symbols, and imagery inspired by traditional ceramic tiles into the design.
Once the final concept was established, we documented the visual identity through detailed brand guidelines to ensure consistent application across all materials.
The execution phase brought the brand to life through thoughtfully designed signage, packaging, and menus, all crafted to reflect the brand’s essence while delivering a cohesive and memorable experience for customers.
Results
Although we poured our passion into creating a unique and culturally rich visual identity for Sabor da Manhã, blending our love for branding, coffee, and European charm, the project ultimately remained unused as the coffee shop never opened its doors.
Despite this, the brand concept stands as a complete and cohesive design, ready to bring the Lisbon-inspired atmosphere to life should the opportunity arise in the future.
While it’s unfortunate the brand hasn’t been experienced by customers, the creative process and final outcome remain a project we’re proud of.
